Windsurfing has been around for as long as most of us can remember. And this high adrenaline sport is made available to you at one of the World's best-equipped watersports center.

Langebaan offers ideal learning conditions for windsurfing as well as out and out high speed flat water blasting. Within 15 minutes drive, Langebaan has some incredible wave sailing and as with the lagoon, strong, steady winds.

Extreme Sports Cafe's Windsurfing Center is a fully stocked retail store, and has the latest in windsurfing goods and a huge selection of ex-rental and 2nd hand equipment. The Center also plays host to Surf magazine's equipment tests as well as being on the site of the 1995 World Production Championships.
Packaged together with the largest windsurfing & kitesurfing rental station in the Southern Hemisphere, a fully stocked retail shop and first class accommodation, no other place in South Africa can compare.

LANGEBAAN - South Africa

The town it's self is home to some very original South African gems, Die Strandloper, Froggies, Pearly's on The Beach and of course "Eve's Footprint!" Eve's Footprint was discovered on the entrance to the Lagoon and is one of the earliest proof of modern man's or woman's existence on this planet! Over 170,000 years old, this fossil shows how people have been coming to this town for a lot longer than we thought! Even pair of bindings were found close by, so perhaps she was a wakeboarder!
There are a lot of activities around and about Langebaan and it is pretty hard to not enjoy yourself whilst here. Golf Courses, a National Park, a Casino, Horseback rides, Helicopter rides, Fishing, bird watching, whale watching, paint ball, windsurfing, kitesurfing, surfing, partying, sea kayaking, and Saturday night at our world famous night club!
Yes time flies by and Langebaan has a lot more to offer than your first impression gives of this sleepy town! Come and experience life "West Coast" style!

Windsurfing Instructors

BKSA, IKO, Wipika & RYA Trained Instructors are used at our Windsurfing Center. From Beginner windsurfing through to advanced, our instructors are here for you to abuse! Kitesurfing from Level 1 through to full on 2 Line Wake Style instruction is available during the seasonal months of October through March!
All the staff at the Center have years of experience in the watersports industry. Whatever your needs, any one of them will be able to help!

 

Airport Pick-up

We are situated in the heart of the West coast of Southern Africa. Langebaan is our town and is situated on the edge of the West Coast National Park. Cape Town International Airport is an easy hour and a half's drive from Langebaan.

Beginner windsurfing Courses.
The first lessons you will do, will teach you about how to up-haule the sail and get going on the beard as well as turning (tacking) and coming back to starting point.
Depending on your skills you will need about 4 lessons to get going on your own and practice. Lessons are usually +/- 2hrs. All equipment included boards, sails, lifejacket, harness & wetsuit.

6-Hour Beginner Windsurfing Course R495 per person

9-Hour Beginner Windsurfing Course R950 per person

Intermediate Windsurfing Courses.
We do intermediate levels in Windsurfing covering beach start, water start, Jibe. Let us know what you would like to work on and we will show you how.
2-Hour Intermediate Windsurfing Course R495 per person

Advanced windsurfing Courses.
Improve on the windsurfing skills you already have or learn something new. Let us know what you would like to work on and we will show you how.
2-Hour Advanced Windsurfing Course R495 per person

The duration for each course is dependant on your own ability to pick up the skills you have been taught and to practise them.
For Beginners it usually takes 4 x +/-2hrs lessons.

Windsurfing accessories are also available for daily rental including:

The rental section is closed from 1st May to 31st July
