Windsurfing Holidays & Adventure on Boracay in the Philippines..

book kitesurfing online with extreme sports cafe gran canariaEveryone wants to find that special place, somewhere different, somewhere that no one else you know has been. We now believe that we have found locations in South East Asia which offer exceptional watersports, yet are still relatively untouched.

Either the location, or an aspect of the watersport is unique, normally both. Dive with Thresher Sharks at the island of Malapasua, or on the WW2 Japanese wrecks of Coron, be one of the first to kitesurf in the tropical paradise of Boracay, or compete in the Asian Windsurfing Tour with the likes of Kevin Pritchard.

The majority of our holidays are on one of the 7000 islands of the Philippines. Because we take you beyond the normal tourist haunts our destinations are not always the easiest to reach, but we can always guarantee a certain degree of comfort, with the accommodation ranging from bamboo stilt huts over the water to luxury suites with air-conditioning and satellite TV.

So, if you're individual, and don't want to follow the crowd, just maybe we've got something for you.

Boracay: Island Paradise
The Centre

The centre is situated right on White Beach, literally a stones throw from the dive boats, and less than a two minute walk from your accommodation. With a bar and restaurant to relax in after your days diving, Calypso also introduces you to a great social scene of like-minded people.

Boracay Island
Windsurfingwindsurfing
You can't imagine the feeling of elation that everyone experiences after their first day sailing on Boracay. The bay is stunning. Surrounded by dense palm trees, the water is turquoise, warm, flat, and chest deep across the entire bay.

Only a handful of other windsurfers will be sharing this slalom blaster's heaven with you. As you near the fringing reef, chop appears, and if you really want to, you can pick your way through the reef to the waves on the outside (not for the faint hearted).

The wind blows cross-on shore, giving two mile long reaches inside the bay. Lighter in the mornings and evenings, the wind really blows from late morning through until late afternoon. Beginners and improvers can use each end of the day to practice in ideal conditions. Windsurfers on the island come from a great diversity of countries – you could be sailing with a Filipino, Korean, Swiss, Australian and Brit, all in the same day. The kit is ready rigged and waiting, just 5 metres from the water.

Boracay Funboard Cup

The AWT consists of five pro-am events held in five different countries between November and February. One of the most popular events is the Boracay Funboard Cup.

This exert is taken from a report of this years event…

asian windsurfing tour"… Without a rest the Adecco AWT then moved straight to the magical island of Boracay, a tiny island that nestles in the midst of the Philippine Archipelago. On a map it looks innocuous, almost too small to deserve attention – yet this "tiny island" is developing a reputation around the world as an awesome windsurfing destination. A fringing reef protects a tropical lagoon where on-shore winds blast palm trees into bows of submission. And every January there is the Funboard Cup, when windsurfing joins with competition and they both party. It is this mix that makes the Funboard Cup such a legend – days of hard racing are followed by fun nights, wild parties and more…"

Open to all standards of sailor, The Funboard Cup is your ticket to great windsurfing and an unbeatable action holiday. Apart from the racing, Boracay offers the non-sailor a multitude of ways to unwind and relax. The island is beautiful, covered in lush tropical vegetation and surrounded by powder white sand beaches. There are many first class dive sites around Boracay, and this is a perfect place to learn at our PADI centre. Or you can just kick back and relax with massages, sunbathing, beach walks and the odd cocktail or two.

Island Life
200 miles south of Manila lies the tropical paradise of Boracay. Only 8 miles long and 1 mile wide, the island is surrounded by white sand beaches and covered in lush tropical vegetation. Boracay is perfectly formed to offer some of the best kitesurfing, windsurfing and diving conditions in the whole region.

Boracay offers a unique lifestyle for locals and visitors. Having avoided the ravages of mass tourism, Boracay maintains a great beach community atmosphere. Sandy paths connect the island, and everyone walks. You probably won't see a car during your entire stay.

Most amenities are within 10palm beach minutes walk of each other, stretched out along White Beach, one of the worlds most beautiful stretches of powder white sand. Whether you're into watersports or not there is something here for everyone. Just watch as your pace of life slows down and your worries fade to nothing… it's going to be difficult going back to the office.

Activities
Diving, Windsurfing and Kitesurfing are only a few of the many ways to enjoy Boracay. You won't find better beaches for sunbathing, reading or taking a dip. And you can fill days at a time by having a Shiatsu massage at Fausto's, coffee at Nadines, cocktails at the Wreck Bar and beach walks, visits to the market, and bike rides.

After Dark
Evenings are never dull. Start off at one of the chilled bars by the beach, taking your time over a couple of 'rum cokes' to decide whether to eat Mongolian, Korean, Thai, Japanese, Filipino, Indian, French or Swiss from one of the many restaurants along White Beach. After dinner you'll want to move on to a friendly bar to either relax, mix, dance or try your hand at 'singalong' (karaoke Filipino style!), you're always made to feel welcome by warm hearted locals.

Accommodation

Deluxe Rooms
Set in lush gardens, the villa rooms all have air-conditioning and fan, western style ensuite facilities, TV, mini bar and patio. There are only 5 rooms in the villa which are in a very quiet location only 5 minutes walk from the dive centre.

Luxury Rooms
Right on the beach, next to the dive centre, the rooms are very modern and beautifully decorated by local artists. Air-conditioning, TV, mini bar, a roof top sun deck, and prime location, all add to make this the place to stay.
