Windsufing Australia - Perth & New South Wales

Learn To Windsurf

For the complete beginner, our Learn to Windsurf Course will get you up and running in no time. Class sizes are limited to 6 per instructor, ensuring each pupil gets plenty of attention. All participants are provided with equipment, wetsuit (if needed), and sunscreen. All you need to bring are some refreshments, a hat and your board shorts.
Course Cost $150 (concessions available)
2 x 3-hour sessions in the AM plus 2-hour hire card

Junior Courses (8-12 years)

This course contains most of the practical elements found in the adult course but with less theory and more emphasis on play and fun. The equipment used is specially designed for kids, with scaled down masts, booms, and sails.

Zero to hero

Over the summer we run weeklong courses, which offer 8 hours of tuition plus unlimited equipment hire over the five days. We offer this package to all levels, from complete novice to advanced sailor. Due to the nature of this course, early booking is essential.

Improve Your Windsurfing

For the windsurfer who wants to move on to stronger wind techniques.

For the windsurfer who wants to move onto smaller boards, and needs to refine their planing skills. You should already be familiar with beach starting, harness and foot straps. Course includes: Stance and speed control
Steering whilst planing

Advanced Techniques

At this level it is advantageous to have 1-1 coaching. This way the coach can work on specific skills directly relevant to the pupil.

We offer a special rate to all schools and colleges. Sessions are normally one to two hours over an 8-week term. Courses are AYF certificated and cover the whole of the TL7 syllabus.

New for 2005 Extreme Sports Cafe will be running weekend and weeklong windsurfing safaris along the West Australian coast and near Sydney!

These are aimed at the intermediate sailor who wants to boost their sailing level to include ocean sailing and to introduce the fundamentals of wave sailing. One of the limiting factors in people's first foray into waves is equipment choice, so these courses include the use of wave boards.

Shark Bay Clinics (September, March and April)

If you simply cannot wait for the summer to come, we are holding clinics in Denham, Shark Bay. The bay gets fantastic southerly sea breezes during these times of year, combined with a very shallow bay and flat water, this trip will really get you fired up for the summer season.

We are offering a full windsurf packages for $500 including tuition every day and all equipment supplied.

If you have your own equipment it will cost you $300 for the five days.

Equipment available is from Mistral/F2 and North.

Monthly Summer Clinics

Over the summer we head up north each month for wave and freeride clinics . Weekend courses will be at Lancelin, staying at the Lancelin Lodge. For weeklong courses, we are heading further north to a secret spot, which has no shortage of wind, choices of flat water, waves, surfing, diving and fishing. More news on this location later.

Weekend Courses cost $250 including tuition and equipment hire (wave boards + wave sails) or $150 excluding equipment.

Week Courses cost $500 including tuition and equipment or $300 excluding equipment.

Accommodation costs from $20 per night.
These courses are strictly limited to 6 people per group.

Extreme Sports Cafe now offers Windsurfing tuition and equipment rental alongside most of it's Kitesurfing locations in Thailand. Most noticeably our Jomtien location, just outside Pattaya in Thailand.

Here we offer Kite surfing, Wind surfing and equipment rental for both disciplines and for all skill levels. The winds in this area pick up in October, November and December and this is a great time to learn, or practice with stronger winds without the risk of gusting which can cause less experienced people problems sometimes.

The Jomtien Pinnacle Hotel and Spa resort right next door means you can roll out of your bed and down the beach to our center. Here have a beautiful palm tree lined area for storage and kit maintenance as well as a relaxing bar that you can chill out at at any time during the day. The beach is just a few yards away at all times.

We offer a limousine service to get you to Jomtien from Bangkok from as little as £30 (2000 Baht) and hotel rooms start at around £20 a night. What more could you ask for... Oh the center prices! Here you go...

Accommodation
Beach Bungalows
The rooms have basic en-suite facilities, a fan, double bed, mosquito screens, veranda and hammock, and although not the Hilton, they are clean and comfortable. The dive centre is a 2 minute walk away, the sailing beach is 5 minutes by trike, and you are within easy walking distance of many bars and restaurants.

Deluxe Rooms
Set in lush gardens, the villa rooms all have air-conditioning and fan, western style ensuite facilities, TV, mini bar and patio. There are only 5 rooms in the villa which are in a very quiet location only 5 minutes walk from the dive centre.

Luxury Rooms
Right on the beach, next to the dive centre, the rooms are very modern and beautifully decorated by local artists. Air-conditioning, TV, mini bar, a roof top sun deck, and prime location, all add to make this the place to stay.

Beginner windsurfing.
The first lessons you will do, will teach you about how to up-haule the sail and get going on the beard as well as turning (tacking) and coming back to starting point.
Depending on your skills you will need about 4 lessons to get going on your own and practice. Lessons are usually +/- 2hrs. All equipment included boards, sails, lifejacket, harness & wetsuit

Intermediate windsurfing.
We do intermediate levels in Windsurfing covering beach start, water start, Jibe.

Advanced windsurfing.
Improve on what you already know or learn something new.

The duration for each course is dependant on your own ability to pick up the skills you have been taught and to practise them.
For Beginners it usually takes 4 x +/-2hrs lessons.

If you have your own equipment then Intermediate/Advanced lessons are R155.
