Zapcats
are highly suited to cope with all sea conditions from flat calm
lakes to large surf. The unique fully inflated catamaran design
enables the Zapcat to reach extreme speeds and out manoeuvre any
other waterborne craft, pulling a 'G' in the tightest of corners
!
All of this performance can be handled on and off the water by
just two people, as a complete Zapcat including 50
hp engine and accessories weighs just under a 150 kg.
- A
Zapcat has a better power to weight ratio than a Ferrari Testarossa.

- Capable
of handling extremely rough seas and large surf.
- A
wave large enough to break over the boat will not cause the
Zapcat to flood. As the water runs out the open back.
- Built
for racing - will last & last due to its tough aluminium
transom, composite spoiler and inflatable tubes manufactured
from the highest quality European P.V.C fabric.
- Excellent
fuel efficiency - over 5 times more fuel efficient than regular
powerboats.
- Easy
to tow - at only 270 kgs on its trailer, it will not slow
you down.
- Folds
down to less than 2m3 - you can pack a Zapcat away and transport
it in the boot of your car.
- Catamaran
design keeps the Zapcat stable when stationary.
- A
Zapcat produces almost no wake, so you will not annoy other
water users.
Zapcats
are the fastest growing water sport in the UK because of
this high octane, one-design sports low price & high performance.

Very new to the English powerboat scene is the completely punchy
and accessible sport of Zap Cat racing. Zap Cats were developed
as a surf rescue boat in South Africa, but when no one needed
to be rescued the lifeguards could not resist the chance to pit
these super fast machines against each other. That’s now
led to a worldwide racing phenomenon, which is also growing day
by day in the UK.
To race in a Zap Cat you have to first hold a RYA level 2 powerboat
licence. PPS are the only training school in the UK that offer
you the opportunity to do the qualification directly on Zap Cats,
using both 30hp and 50hp Zap Cat that step you up the power as
your skill level grows. THe course still covers all the RYA level
2 course requierments be using PPS rane of powerboats, but also
puts you directly onto the Zap Cat for the appropriate driving
skills that you will need. PPS is also approved BY Zap Cat as
one of its training providers.
So if you are already serious about getting into Zap Cat racing
and owning your own boat, which perhaps you already do, then take
advantage of the PPS RYA Zap Cat training courses and be one step
ahead.
Not only that, you can carry on honing your skills after your
initial course with further tuition. PPS powerboat instructor
Richard Fabrri hails from South Africa himself and ready to pass
