We
run our courses in Cyprus, Thailand, Malaysia, Spain and the
UK as we feel that it offers better opportunities to master
the excitement of paramotoring while enjoying an exhilarating
holiday in the sun. Cyprus has 340 days of sunshine a year,
so the chances of weather interrupting your flying are considerably
less than the UK. Thailand is even better! We relocate in Spain
to grab the best of the weather in the Summer and operate from
March through to October. In the UK we operate from April through
until August, and then move our operations to Spain and increase
our manpower over there. This means that our paragliding and
paramotoring schools can take people who have started their
courses in the UK and then continue training and experience
in Europe or Asia. Or people can simply venture to Spain, Cyprus
or as far away as Thailand to start their Paragliding or Paramotoring
adventures... The island of Cyprus has dramatic coastlines with
deserted beaches and a wild un-spoilt mountainous interior,
which will enhance your enjoyment of such an inspiring and enlivening
sport.

These
courses are designed to instruct students up to certain standards.
Option 1 does not offer a full qualification but rather a paramotor
rating giving the customer the ability to fly solo. Option 2
is the next step up and is designed to teach paraglider pilots
the art of paramotoring. Upon successful completion of the course
students gain a full BMAA qualification. Option 3 is a combination
of the two previous courses. It is designed to teach complete
beginners and novices, over a two week period, the full BMAA
syllabus resulting with them gaining the BMAA qualification.
Customers choosing to sit the Option 2 course will have to sit
a Paragliding Competence Test at the beginning of the course.
This is in order for students to not only prove their competence
with a paraglider but also for insurance reasons. Those who
fail the test will be given the chance to sit the Option 1 course.
Therefore customers are encouraged to be honest and if in doubt
contact us.

Taster Course - £695.00
- Cyprus |
Once
the student has successfully completed the Elementary Pilot
stage (see above) then they will begin their paramotor training
at the Skyschool Flying Area. This is located about 15 minutes
west of Pissouri, near the Cypriot village of Paramali. The
area is a large field about 500m inland from a deserted beach.
The student will be introduced to the paramotor and taken
through an extensive safety briefing. They will then practise
using the paramotor whilst on the ground; this involves becoming
accustomed to using the controls, among other things. Once
the student has completed this stage and has sat the ‘First
Solo Flight’ and the ‘Effects of the Motor on
the Wing’ lectures, it will be time for their first
solo flight by paramotor.
The solo flight will only be carried out when both the instructor
and student are comfortable that they are ready to do so.
The student will perform various procedures whilst under radio
contact with the instructor. After the student has completed
their first solo flight they will be debriefed by the instructor.
If there is any time remaining on the course then the student
will consolidate what they have learned throughout the week
and will have the opportunity to complete further solo flights
whilst under radio contact with an instructor.
