Kitesurfing Turkey - Last year Turkey played host to some National and International Kitesurfing events. Water & Air Interational and national competitions 2005 were organised by our team in Turkey.

Extreme Sports Café has teamed up with a well-established Kitesurfing school located on one of the 10 best windy blue flagged beaches in Cesme. (Pronounced as chesh-ma) Cesme is located on Turkey's western coast overlooking the Aegean Sea. Less than one hour's drive from Turkey's 3rd largest city of Izmir, Cesme is the ideal location for a combined Kitesurfing and sightseeing holidays with its crystal clear waters, sandy beaches, fantastic climate and nearby historical gems. Our location has also been praised by some of the best kitesurfers in the world for it’s steady non-gusty winds.

Extreme Sports Café’s Kite School is an affiliated IKO Center and courses are run from 1st April – 31 October.

At our kite-shop you can rent and buy equipment and accessories. We have a lounge area where you can sit and enjoy food or refreshments from our clean simple beach cafe, which serves local and International cuisine. The 'back garden' of our beach cafe is a real lazy house for those who want to relax on top of our fluffy lawn pillows and sunbath or fall asleep under our huge sun umbrellas.

The region of Cesme has a typical Mediterranean climate. The summer season begins in April and continues until the end of October with hot sunny days. Unlike other Turkish resorts, the region of Cesme benefits from the cooling Imbat breeze, which blows off the Aegean Sea and is renowned for its clean, cool air, offering welcome relief from the heat of the sun even during the hottest months of July and August.

Other things to do on Turkey when on a kitesurfing trip

Cesme is located in the west of Izmir. The name Cesme means fountain in Turkish. The name comes from the many springs around the area during the 18th and 19th centuries.It is one of the most popular holiday resorts in Turkey with its clean sandy blue sea, fish restaurants and lovely climate.

In the center there is a 14th century Genoese fortress which was restored by the Ottomans in the 16th century. The Caravanserai neighboring the fortress was built by Suleyman the Magnificent in the 16th century which was converted to a hotel during the restoration of Hagios Haralambos Church as the Amir Caka art gallery in the 19th century.

During the day one can join the boat trips to many islands around Cesme and at night there are many discos, bars, cafes to make your holiday enjoyable. Cesme is also famous for the Song Contests in the summer which is held in the Cesme Castle. There are ferries running from Cesme to Venice. The beaches of Cesme are ideal for water sports. Especially Alacati is famous for its good location for wind surfing.

In Ilica International Cakabey Optimist Yacht Races are held every year in July. The most famous place to visit in Cesme for eating fish is Dalyan which is located in the north of Cesme. The best beaches in the area are Pirlanta Plaj and Altinkum which are located in the south of the center.

Beginner Kitesurfing Package €242 This kitesurfing course covers IKO Level 1 and IKO Level 2 and is 6 hours of kitesurfing tuition. After successful completion of this kitesurfing course you will be certified IKO Level 2

Perfection Kitesurfing Package €173 This kitesurfing course covers IKO Level 3 and is 4-6 hours of kitesurfing tuition. After successful completion of this kitesurfing course you will be certified IKO Level 3.

Kitesurfing Coaching €50 per/hour One on one kitesurfing coaching is beneficial for any skill level to fine tune present kiteboard skills or to master the more tricky kitesurfing techniques.
