Kiteboarding
- the ultimate in freedom - the ultimate challenge - even when
you’re relaxing on holiday!
Mexico
is famous for its majestic Mayan ruins located in Tulum among
rugged cliffs overlooking the beautiful turquoise waters of
the Mexican Caribbean.
Enjoy all that this amazing, historically interesting place
offers including Kitesurfing lessons with Extreme Sports Café’s
new partner Kitesurfing school in the beautiful waters of the
Mayan Riviera, Mexico. With its consistent winds,
warm Caribbean blue waters, and beautiful stretches of white
sandy beaches: you discover a kiteboarding dream. Tulum, Mexico
is an ideal place to learn kiteboarding and practice or ride.
Tulum's
greatest attraction is its location. It stands on a bluff facing
the rising sun looking out on views of the Caribbean that are
nothing less than spectacular. In Maya, Tulum means "Wall",
and the city was christened thus because it is a walled city;
one of the very few the ancients ever built. Research suggests
it was formerly called Zama or "to dawn" in its day,
which is appropriate given the location. Long stretches of white
sandy beaches, crystal clear waters and swaying palm trees make
Tulum one of the most beautiful tropical paradises in Mexico
and in the world. It is surrounded by the world’s second
largest barrier reef and unlocks the door to a wide array of
ocean adventures.
The warm waters of Mexico and tropical sun of the Caribbean
make it perfect to spend hours in the ocean learning kiteboarding
and taking your IKO Kitesurfing course, going on downwind trips
or riding waves on the reef break. The open stretches of powdery
white beaches and sideshore winds are the ideal environment
to learn or improve your kitesurfing skills.Come join Extreme
Sports Cafe for kitesuring in Mexico.
Extreme
Sports Café’s new partner Kitesurfing base is located
in a prime location to enjoy what Tulum offers. With a southerly
wind, you might have the opportunity to kitesurf in front of
the Tulum ruins and view them from a special perspective. Just
3 km from the beach, 1 km from world renowned cenotes and cavern
diving and only 200 meters from grocery stores, internet, bank,
and car rental. It is a perfect place to enjoy your holiday.
Tulum offers everything from the conveniences of a town, to
the quiet serenity of the beach, to the excitement of the jungle.
The Kitboarding Centre runs courses for all levels, beginner,
Intermediate and advanced kitesurfers form November through
to August. Kitesurfing Packages including accommodation are
also available at from Extreme Sports Café’s new

Kiteboarding Centre.
The winters are sunny and mild. It starts getting warmer in
March. There are some spring rains, but not what would be referred
to as a "rainy season". June can be rainy. July -
August are usually hot and humid. Traditionally September and
October have the highest risk of hurricanes. (Officially the
Caribbean storm season is June-October). The last hurricane
was in 1995, the one before that 1988. We hope we are not due
another for a few years. November begins the winter season with
milder temperatures and lower humidity.
