Extreme Sports café has teamed up with a Kitesurfing School in Lanzarote, which has been established in the area for 10 years. Extreme Sports Café now offers kite camps for beginners, intermediate and advanced kite surfers at our new Kitesurfing School in Lanazarote, Canarias, Spain.

Extreme Sports Cafes’ partner kitesurfing school in Lanzarote is a FKI kitesurfing centre. (Italian Kitesurfing Federation) The kitesurfing school in Lanzarote has last generation CABRINHA, Takoon kites and SEFON boards, wetsuits and all kitesurfing materials necessary, also a Zodiac for when conditions require.

We have qualified Kitesurfing Instructors who can teach in English, Spanish, German or French. The average water temperature is between 20-23 °C and air temperature is between 20-25 °C, which allow us to ride almost every day.

Every day is different though, different swell, different wind direction, different tides, different waves making each ride unique.

Extreme Sports Cafes’ partner kitesurfing school in Lanzarote operates all year round offering Kitesurfing lessons and Package including accommodation holidays. Low Season 16th Sept – 14th July / High Season 15th July – 15th Sept. They included accommodations in "Caleta de Famara" inside Famara Natural Park away from all the mass tourism and only 100m from one of the most paradisiacal beaches in Lanzarote (6km of fine sand). Here you can enjoy a great kitesurfing holiday in comfort, kiting and surfing in the crystal warm waters of Lanzarote. Packages available are Beginner Packages, Intermediate Packages, Advanced Packages and a Combined Kitesurfing and Surfing Package.

2-Day Basic Kitesurfing Course 180€ per person
Our 2-Day Basic Kitesurfing Course along with the normal inclusions also includes 6hours of Kitesurfing tuition – 3hours per day. All equipment needed is also included - Kite, Harness, Vests, Helmets, Radios, Kiteboards. 1 Instructor per 4 students (Max) helps to maximise your learning experience.
The objective of this Basic Kitesurfing Course is for you to learn all the safety procedures and have full control of the kite both inside and outside the water. Upon competition of the basic kitesurfing course you will be able to do the "body dragging" (slide on water being pulled by the kite - without board). This manoeuvre is essential for safety reasons; in order to get to shore in case you should loose the board once kiting.

4-Days Beginner Kitesurfing Course 360€ per person
After successful completion of our 4-Day Kitesurfing Course beginners will be self sufficient and ready to free ride...Our 4-Day Kitesurfing Course along with the normal inclusions also includes 12hours of Kitesurfing tuition – 3hours per day. All equipment needed is also included - Kite, Harness, Vests, Helmets, Radios, Kiteboards. 1 Instructor per 4 students (Max) helps to maximise your learning experience.

This Kitesurfing Course’s objectives will include: Control over the kite (inside and outside the water), free riding, water starts and cross wind navigation.

Pre-requisite: Be able to swim, sense of adventure and willing to learn a new, addictive and exciting sport.

2-Day Intermediate Kitesurfing Course 180€ per person
This Intermediate Kitesurfing course is for all those that have completed a beginners Kitesurfing course but don't get to practice kitesurfing regularly or feel in need of more lessons... so you feel safer kiting on your own...

Our 2-Day Intermediate Kitesurfing Course along with the normal inclusions also includes 6hours of Kitesurfing tuition – 3hours per day. All equipment needed is also included - Kite, Harness, Vests, Helmets, Radios, Kiteboards. 1 Instructor per 4 students (Max) helps to maximise your learning experience.

This Kitesurfing Course’s objectives will include: Navigating in all directions and your first maneuvers.

This Kitesurfing course covers all the exercises from "body drag" onwards... It's fundamental that you know how to water start and have completed all the beach exercises - having absolute control over the kite.
Pre-requisite: This Kitesurfing course is for those that have fully completed all the steps of IKO level 1 or are presently doing IKO Level 2.

2-Day Advanced Kitesurfing Course 180€ per person
Our 2-Day Advanced Kitesurfing Course along with the normal inclusions also includes 6hours of Kitesurfing tuition – 3hours per day. All equipment needed is also included - Kite, Harness, Vests, Helmets, Radios, Kiteboards. 1 Instructor per 2 students (Max) helps to maximise your learning experience.

Kitesurfing Improvements include:
• Body position
• Constant power control with the kite
• Kite movement on both parts of the wind window techniques
• Edging control. Methods to increase or decrease the power by edging
• Switch of direction without loosing the power
• And first jumps...

Pre-requisite: To do this Kitesurfing course you must have completed all steps of FKI Levels 1 & 2 or equivalent level.You must know how to water-start, water rescue techniques, have absolute control on breaking and self-autonomy to deal with the kite and board, in and out of the water.

Kitesurfing Courses with Accommodation Lanzarote - Spain

This kitesurfing course is for people who have no experience and would like to learn how to Kitesurf.

You will learn about:

• Kit setup / Getting ready • Safety • Basic kite flying • Kite piloting • Basic launching and landing • Getting into the water

1 Week Beginner Kitesurfing Package along with the normal inclusions.
4days of Lessons at our Kitesurf School, 3hrs per day.

This kitesurfing course covers all the exercises from "body drag" onwards... It's essential that you know how to water start and have completed all the beach exercises, having absolute control over the kite to do this course.

Our 1-week Intermediate Package along with the normal inclusions.
4 Days of lessons at our Kitesurf School, 3 hours per day.
All equipment needed is also included - Kite, Harness, Vests, Helmets, Radios, Kiteboards.

1 Instructor per 2 students (Max) helps to maximise your learning experience.

Pre-requisite: This course is for those that fully completed all the steps of FKI level 1 or are presently doing FKI Level 2 or equivalent level.

Advanced Kitesurfing Package Low-€580 p/p High-€625p/p

This course is for all free riders that have/use their own equipment back home and can do water-starts, but don't ride that regularly or still want some tuition.
In this course you'll improve:

• Body position • Constant power control kite & kite movement - wind window techniques • Edging control. Methods to increase or decrease the power by edging • Switch of direction without loosing the power • And your first jumps...

Our 1-week Advanced Kitesurfing Package along with the normal inclusions.
4 Days of lessons at our Kitesurf School - 3 hours per day.
All equipment needed is also included - Kite, Harness, Vests, Helmets, Radios, Kiteboards.

1 Instructor per 2 students (Max) helps to maximise your learning experience.

Combined Kitesurfing & Surfing Package Low-€499 pp Low-€550 p/p

This kitesurf camp is for beginners in both Kitesurfing and Surfing. Depending on weather conditions in just a few days you can initiate yourself in these two exciting sports. Days when the wind conditions are not favourable for Kite you can participate in our Surf School without any additional cost.

Our 1-week Kite and Surf Combined Packages includes all the normal inclusions as well as 3 Days of Surf School and 3 days of Kite School. 15 hours of Surfing tuition with surf materials, picnic and transportation to the beach all included and 9 hours of Kite tuition with materials and transportation to the beach included.

*If in the unlikely event that you do not complete your course, do not worry Extreme Sports Café’s kite school in Lanzarote will give you a PERSONAL VOUCHER (valid for 1 year) for the hours of your course that you did not complete due to bad conditions (extreme winds or lack of wind)...

*Our Kite Surf school organizes daily pick up/drop off of clients from any hotel/apartments in Costa Teguise, Puerto del Carmen, Puerto Calero and Arrecife areas, for a minimum of 2 persons. You can also rent kite surf equipment after completing your training.

* If you are thinking about not renting a car during your holiday in Lanzarote, the Kite Surf school can arrange a taxi for you on the day of your arrival from the airport, the price per journey is 25€ (maximum 4 people per taxi)

*Extreme Sports Cafe Kitesurfing Courses run year round except for February. (The school is also closed on Sunday's)

By Car

By Train / Bus

Costa Brava - Take the train to Figueres station, there you can either take the bus to Empuriabrava (from the bus station next to the train), or you can take a taxi (20€).

Tarifa - For this though you will have to first get to Malaga, short trip by train and then change again in Algeciras.

By Air

Costa Brava - By air you can fly to Barcelona, Girona or Perpignan (France) for the Costa Brava. The companies Easyjet, Ryanair, Jet2 and even British Airways (If you really want to use an overpriced, low service quality airline!) all offer flights at discount prices and Sarfa buses run between airports and Empuriabrava.

Tarifa - Malaga airport is one of the busiest in the world for tourist traffic. This has brought all the costs down dramatically and increased the services available.

Important notes for Kitesurfing in Lanzarote with Extreme Sports Cafe.

If in the unlikely event that you do not complete your course, do not worry Extreme Sports Café’s kite school in Lanzarote will give you a PERSONAL VOUCHER (valid for 1 year) for the hours of your course that you did not complete due to bad conditions (extreme winds or lack of wind)...

All courses follow the IKO (International Kitesurfing Organisation) assessment system. Our instructors are IKO qualified and at the end of each course students will receive an IKO card with their achieved level. All the necessary equipment is provided for students (excluding food and drinks) and the courses last between 4 and 5 hours per day depending on the wind conditions. Students are advised to wear a hat and apply sun-cream as they will be spending a lot of time in the sun. Students must be 16 years or older, although we can teach children under 16 with their parent’s permission and presence.
