IKO instructor courses

All Extreme Sports Cafe Kitesurfing / Kiteboarding courses follow the IKO (International Kitesurfing Organisation) assessment system. Our kitesurf instructors are IKO qualified and at the end of each course students will receive a kitesurfing IKO card with their achieved level. All the necessary kitesurfing equipment is provided for students (excluding food and drinks) and the kitesurf courses last between 4 and 5 hours per day depending on the wind conditions. Students are advised to wear a hat and apply sun-cream as they will be spending a lot of time in the sun. Students must be 16 years or older, although we can teach children under 16 to kitesurf, with their parent’s permission and presence.

Today, you can make your passion your job by following an IKO instructor training course and by becoming an IKO instructor. The instructorship program meets the qualifications and motivations of all, since an unexperienced candidate can first become Assistant instructor before becoming instructor level 1, then level 2, level 2 senior, and eventually examiner.

Certifications Prerequisites IKO Assistant Instructor Be at least 16 years old Be certified as an IKO kiteboarder level 3 for at least 6 months Have a powerboat license or equivalent skill level if no obligatory license is required in the home country Have a valid first aid certificate more info... IKO Instructor level 2 Be an IKO instructor level 1 teach 160 hours to minimum 20 students and maximum 30 students IKO Instructor level 2 senior Be an instructor level 2 teach + 840 hours (1000 hours in total) and minimum +100 students (120 in total). IKO Examiner Be an instructor level 2 senior and have at least 2 years of teaching experience Have taught to students in different locations Be fluent English and preferably another language Be at least 25 years old.
