All
courses follow the IKO (International Kitesurfing Organisation)
assessment system. Our instructors are IKO qualified and at the
end of each course students will receive an IKO card with their
achieved level. All the necessary equipment is provided for students
(excluding food and drinks) and the courses last between 4 and
5 hours per day depending on the wind conditions. Students are
advised to wear a hat and apply sun-cream as they will be spending
a lot of time in the sun. Students must be 16 years or older,
although we can teach children under 16 with their parent’s
permission and presence.

Our brand new waterfront Island Lodge property opened in 2005 so don't delay...stay 20ft from the waters edge and roll out of your hammock onto your board and plane away! Our new facility has been a long time coming, so we are celebrating with some different options for 2007. We also still have 5 double smaller private stand alone Bures.
In addition, Our Island Property already has toilets and change rooms. Tables, deck chairs, hammocks, hot showers & grassy lying areas all await you on the island! The perfect Lodge! The island is renowned for its consistent 15-30 knot warm south-east cross-shore trade winds. Our Kitesurfing and Windsurfing Lodge provides entertainment, alcohol and a very social atmosphere. For
2007 we are again offering our accommodation at Ellington Wharf.
You can stay in a traditional Fijian Then you can blast downwind and our support boat will give you a ride home! You can also do Downwind Runs, round the following islands: Nananu-I-Ra, Dolphin, Nananu-I-Cake, or Malaki Islands.... We load you, your board & kite into our boat and your off...you choose where you want to kite too and from on every day! Want to land downwind on a deserted beach, relax, have lunch then kite upwind (or jump in the boat!) to come home. The area is renowned for its consistent 15-30 knot warm south-east cross-shore trade winds. Extreme Sports Cafe offers Mountain Bikes, Sea Kayaks and plenty of Non-kiting activities for those quiet days!
Experience 10-20 knots during the off-season and 15-30 knots during the trade Season. June/July/August period is windy with consistent warm trade winds. You’ll enjoy the best of Fiji’s sun-drenched beaches, crystal clear waters, warm 15-30 knot sea breezes. Dedicated
staff operating the support boat will make sure you've looked
after. Having a support boat means you can fill it with food,
drink and your daily needs....and just kite to your hearts content!
For 2007 we have four options for kitesurfing accommodation. You can stay on the island in our newly finished Villa or private double beachfront Bures, or save some dollars and stay at our Adventure base at Ellington Wharf. Here you can stay in a traditional Fijian Bure, comprised of two private rooms with Doubles and a dormitory for 4 guests. Set

All our kitesurfing courses can be completed within 1 week or less...
We teach Kitesurfing, following the IKO guidelines. Instruction is available at $300 for 6 hours (min 2) or $480 for 6 hours private and can be taken over 2, 3 or more days. Kite hire is included in lessons however is not available for Hire.

Extreme Sports Cafe does not provide Hire Gear for Kiting in Fiji. If you require Hire equipment we can suggest retailers where you live that could assist with gear prior to departure. We strongly recommend experienced kiters bring their own kites, board & spare lines with them and plenty of bladder repair patches, just in case.

2006
saw some significant changes at Extreme Sports Cafe's Fiji Kitesurfing
Safari locations.... We have now completed our Stage 2 building
and for 2007 offer the following Accommodation options:
Bure, comprised of two private rooms with Doubles and a dormitory
for 4 guests. Being based at Ellington Wharf gives us the flexibility
to Kite straight in front of our Island Lodge, or jump in one
of our 7 Boats and launch from Sandy Point, 500m downwind the
channel between the Mainland and the islands.
We
usually focus on kiting immediately in front of the Lodge in
the windy passage that funnels between the mainland and the
islands adjacent to Ellington Wharf. This offers the best wind
and steady conditions. We may opt to kite from the white Sandy
beach on the island, as the map shows, however this location
is only good for very experienced Kiters...(we have a long ladder
on standby to retrieve your kite from the top of the coconut
trees!). The beach provides another location for Kiteboarding,
however our preference is the Sandy point - Kite-Beach. The
off season months of April-June and Sept-Nov provide great off
season kiting as the trade winds are not as strong.
