| How
to become an instructor... |
In
the UK and other parts of the world, most powerkite disciplines
legally require that you do an ITC before you can teach others.
As such we run a range of courses through our Weymouth Campus
in order to get you qualified.
All of our Instructor Training Courses go beyond the bare minimums from the governing
bodies and bring in other areas of knowledge as well. In 2004 we will be offering
further ITC packages, which will be disclosed at a later date. For the time being
we can train you to be an instructor in the following disciplines.
You
don't just need to be a good rider to teach kitesurfing, you
also need patience, discipline and a keen sense of awareness
in order to keep your students safe whilst in your care. Our
Kitesurfing ITC is the most comprehensive and rigorous in the
world offering higher chances of employement at leading schools
in the UK and across the world. Click here for more information
about the kitesurfing instructor training course.
All
power kite sports can be dangerous, but taking a group of students
up into the mountains to learn to snow kite can be even more
so. As such you need to be sure that you can conduct lessons
safely and professionally whilst your students still have fun.

Legally
to become an instructor you need the piece of paper saying
you can teach. To be a good instructor though, you also need
to be patient, understanding and observant in order to help
your students progress in a safe and controlled manner.
We can't provide the patience, understanding and observational
skills - only you can do that - but we can put you through the
most rigourous and comprehensive Instructor Training Course in
the world.
Our ITC doesn't just cover the IKO and BKSA minimums which you
need to get employment in the UK and many other locations in
the world. We train our instructors how to manage teaching locations,
interact with local authorities as well as teach to the highest
standard possible.
Many of our Instructor Trainees go on to full employment, being
chosen over other candidates because they have done this course.
Our instructors are the most sought after in the
world.
Everyone can be a good rider - all it takes is practice. Only
some people make good instructors though. Are you one?
Note:
There are minimum requirements in order to become an instructor.
Generally
these are:
• The candidate must hold an RYA Powerboat Level 2 certificate [or equivalent
internationally].
• The candidate must hold a valid, water based first aid certificate.
• The candidate must be able to ride in many different conditions and show
experience of this.
• The candidate must be proficient enough to choose correct equipment for
the day and changing conditions in order to maintain a level of safety.
• The candidate should be able to ride up and down wind, as well as execute
basic jumps safely.
If you would like any more information about the prerequisites please contact
