You just have to know where they are. Join Extreme Sports Café for Phuket Kayaking adventures to hidden forest reserves full of wildlife and beautiful nature on picture postcard tropical islands surrounded by brilliant reefs.

Called "The Pearl of the South" by the tourist industry, Phuket is Thailand's largest island, (810 sq km) and because of its large size there are still many beautiful spots to explore and accommodate escapists and water-sports lovers, of nearly all budget levels.

The island's terrain is incredibly varied with idyllic little secluded coves, long white powdery beaches, limestone formations, mangrove forest reserves and jungles with waterfalls and tropical vegetation of all kinds, making Phuket the perfect place for any action adventure seeker. Extreme Sports Café can now offer you the experience of Kayaking in idyllic Phuket, Thailand.

November till March brings beautiful sunny weather with cool trade winds blowing. Temperatures at night are around 23 degrees Celsius and during the daytime 30 or 32 degrees Celsius. This season is our winter.

sea kayak phuket thailandMay to September and first half of October are the wettest periods as this is the Wet season. June, July and August generally have fine weather with an occasional shower. At night temperatures are around 28 degrees Celsius and during the daytime 32 or 34 degrees Celsius. Good swells for surfing roll in from the Indian Ocean as well with July and August being fairly windy too.

The geography of Phuket is more varied than at any other island in Thailand. Whilst Phuket's beautiful coastline is the major attraction, Phuket's interior with its rainforest-covered mountains, rice paddies and plantations of rubber, cashew nut, cacao, pineapple and coconut should not be ignored. In Phuket the tourism is concentrated at certain beaches but there are still many beautiful spots that can be explored.

Extreme Sports Café’s Phuket Kayaking Centre operates for Kayaking tours in Phuket in January and February and from May to October. The Kayaking trips take place in sheltered areas that are not affected by the waves and wind.

Kayaking is a very easy and fun activity, we will teach you the necessary things along the way. We specialise in half day and 1-day kayaking trips to remote and unspoiled destinations around Phuket Island. We will show you a side of Phuket that most people have never seen.

Season: January/February and from May until September.

The coral here is nicer than that found on many of the islands further offshore because this area is not visited by many tourists. As there is no fresh water here, it has limited the tourist development allowing the coral here to flourish. We can stop at any place you wish to swim, snorkel, explore or just relax.

Sitting in silence on the rocks, enjoying drinks and watching the sky change as the sun nears the horizon, this is a very relaxing and unique kayaking experience. We then paddle the short way back to Phuket and you will be back in time for dinner.

Our Kayaks

Extreme Sports Café’s Phuket Kayaking Centre uses sit on top kayaks made by the brand "Hobie", (the makers of the famous Hobie Cat catamarans), and "Feel Free". We have both single canoes and canoes in which 2 people can sit.

learn to sea kayak phuket thailand with extreme sports cafeSome features of our Hobie kayaks are:
• A rudder at the back for easy steering.
• A very high padded backrest.
(You will be surprised by the comfort of these kayaks)
• Fishing rod holders.
• A lot of storage space, you can even take diving tanks with you.

Extreme Sports Café’s Phuket Kayaking Centre, Hobie sit on top kayaks are specially designed to have some of the speed of ocean kayaks, (ocean kayaks are very long, sleek and fast kayaks) but also the stability of a sit on top kayak. This stability and the fact that they are sit on top canoes makes them very easy to get in and out of, your legs are free to move around and you can easily hop into the water for a swim or snorkel at any place you want.
