to fill a gap year, change your career or just in need of
a little adventure, this could be the answer. Train to become
a professional in these exciting watersports, in a beautiful
tropical location...
'Go Pro Diving'
Joining
the professional world of diving offers you exciting challenges
and
endless possibilities: chances to explore the fascinating
underwater environment and the opportunity to share your knowledge
and experiences with students who want to learn. Imagine stepping
into a new world every day, and getting paid for it!
Diving is rapidly becoming one of the most popular watersports
in the world. According to PADI there are more vacancies for
dive professionals than there are qualified staff to fill
them, giving you a great chance to work where and when you
want to.
As the first and most respected dive
centre on Boracay, we take our training seriously, specialising
in the training of divemasters and instructors. Air conditioned
classrooms, a freshwater training pool, constantly updated
equipment and an enviable reputation when it comes to instruction
and safety maintain our standing as one of the top instructor
development centres in Asia. We offer a variety of ways to
train as a professional diver:
PADI Divemaster
The first step on the professional ladder.
With little or no experience required this is the fastest way
to becoming a professional diver. Two months after you first
jump in, you could be guiding clients around a coral reef, inspecting
rare seahorses or diving with a group of Thresher sharks.
All courses include unlimited diving and training in all aspects
of work as a professional divemaster, tailor made to suit your
individual learning characteristics.
Depending on your previous experience you can chose one of three
ways to become a divemaster:
8 Week PADI Divemaster Course (DM8)
No previous experience is required. This
course is intensive with diving almost every day, theory sessions,
tutorials, personal coaching and exams. We have introduced extra
specialties to the course, designed to boost the student's all
round knowledge of diving. Eight weeks is therefore the shortest
time we feel that a novice can progress comfortably to become
a competent divemaster.
10
Week PADI Divemaster Course
(DM10)
No previous experience required. The
10 week course includes all components of the 8 week course
along with an extra specialty of your choice and extra personal
coaching. Although still quite intensive
10 weeks allows you a little more time to enjoy the island or
to consolidate on what you've learnt.
It is possible for candidates with previous experience to take
a shorter course to become qualified, see under 'Fast Track'.

Some people would like to become qualified
but don't have the time or budget required for a full training
course. Although definitely not suitable for novices we do offer
short courses aimed at experienced divers who lack the qualification.
4 week PADI Divemaster Course (DM4)
Previous experience required includes
PADI Advanced Open Water and
at least 30 logged dives. This course is designed for candidates
with previous experience and limited time, we have therefore
included fewer specialties.
3 week PADI Instructor Course
(I3)
Previous experience includes PADI Divemaster
and at least 100
logged dives. The course includes personal coaching and training,
instructor development and instructor exams. The candidate must
be up to date with all aspects of the PADI scheme in order to
start the 3 week course, as there is little extra time for revision.

Location
Boracay Island
200 miles south of Manila lies the tropical
paradise of Boracay.
Only 8 miles long and 1 mile wide, surrounded
by white sand beaches and covered in lush tropical vegetation,
Boracay is perfectly formed to offer some of the best diving
and sailing conditions in Asia.
Training
Our facilities on Boracay are first class.
Calypso Diving is a PADI 5star IDC centre
located right in the middle of White Beach, with an unrivalled
reputation for quality of instruction and safety, they are one
of the top instructor development centres in Asia. Only 5 minutes
trike ride across the island is Bulabog Beach and this is where
you will learn to windsurf or kitesurf. The sailing area is
ideal; thanks to a fringing reef, most teaching is done in the
chest deep waters of the lagoon, making this an easy and safe
learning environment.
Island Life
Boracay offers a unique lifestyle for
locals and visitors.
Having not fallen to the ravages of mass
tourism, Boracay has managed
to maintain its beach community atmosphere. Sandy paths connect
the island and everyone walks. Accommodation, training centres
and meeting places are all within 5 minutes of each other, all
located along White Beach, a beautiful stretch of powder white
sand.
Although
the courses will take up a lot of your time during the day,
the island can offer a great deal in evening entertainment.
Choose your dinner from Mongolian, Korean, Thai, Japanese, Filipino,
French, Swiss… the list is endless. Then move on to one
of the friendly bars to either chill out, dance or try your
hand at 'singalong', you're always made to feel welcome by warm
hearted FFilipinos.
Accommodation
Your own beach bungalow, with en suite
bathroom.
All rooms have a fan, double bed, mosquito
screens, veranda and hammock, they are comfortable and private.
The dive centre is a 2-minute walk away, the sailing beach is
5 minutes by trike, and you are within easy walking distance
of many bars and restaurants.

If
you have any questions, then please dont hesitate to get
back to us well be only too pleased to help. After
all, the team at ESC are passionate about our various sporting
