The turkish blue water of the 20km long, 1.5km wide Langebaan lagoon offers exceptional flat water wind surfing and also magnificent kite surfing for beginners through to advanced. 
The wind direction in the summer is side shore and the wind statistics show that from October to March there are 20–25 days of wind over 20 knots per month. From November through to February you can expect some days of up to 35 knots.

This perfect combination of wind and infrastructure has brought the German Surf Magazine to the wind surfing school to do their Mega Windsurf Test every year now since 1996. They arrive with about 3 tons of all their wave and freeride windsurfing equipment.
The first week of each November all the manufacturers / designers of windsurf boards and sails meet here with the magazine staff to discuss and present their products for the coming season. All these guys are very approachable so it is a great chance for the public to come and meet them.

Eve's Footprint was discovered on the entrance to the Lagoon and is one of the earliest proof of modern man's or woman's existence on this planet. Over 170,000 years old, this fossil shows how people have been coming to this town for a lot longer than we thought! Even pair of bindings were found close by, so perhaps she was a wakeboarder!
