9-Day HGFA and International Certificate Paragliding Course
This paragliding course will take you further than the License requirements (seriously) due to having over 15 different take off points, its gives you variety in your training and allows you to develop different thinking at each location. Launching from one hill each day limits your skills, Flying from different sites with different landings improves flight planning skills.
This is the HGFA license program covering, ground and high flights, soaring from 500 - 1800 feet above ground level, Mountain or Soaring on the Coast! Teaching with an accelerated learning process by using tandem instruction on the first day or two as found similar in Parachuting.
On average most people reach the certificate standard in 7 - 9 days but this course gives you 10 full days of training and takes you to a level beyond that of the Club Pilot..
- Practical starts day one with controlling the paraglider close to the ground. Expect bunny hops from a gentle slope. In the afternoon or the following day we go to a suitable site for the first major solo flights. normally from 60 - 500 feet sites above ground level.
- Successive days consist of multiple high flights from launch sites be it Mountain or Coastal depending on which is suitable to the weather of the day.
In the 7 - 10 day program expect to do flights from our Coastal sites or mountain sites of up to 1500 Feet solo, under radio supervision. - Tandem instruction is also included when needed to accelerate the learning when weather conditions permit. This is the only course in Australia, which consolidates both Inland and Coastal Skills! Its important to learn both skills as winds are generally stronger on the coast. We are the only place where you can do BOTH in a week ask any Pilot.
This 9-day Paragliding Course does not include HGFA membership insurance.
Accommodation: We have a beach house for clients and offer great accommodation at $25 per night. The house is fully self contained with Mountain Bikes, fishing gear and we are just 200 meters from the beach. Camping is available at $15 per night.

- Learning to Paraglide is not all hands on; some days are utilized doing theory classes when weather is unsuitable for practical training and most mornings theory is done prior to practical days as we need to complete a 40 page work book with all our courses set by the Hanggliding Federation of Australia.
- Your instructor will take you through each step of this workbook in great detail and will ensure you understand all the theoretical requirements. Do not be alarmed by the theory component, no one has ever failed including dyslexic pilots! Our Instructors are competent people in relaying the theory in a comfortable way for all
- As our class sizes are no greater than six persons at a time, each student pilot gets his or her personal, near new flight gear to be used for the duration of your course. You are suited appropriately to your gear depending on your weight and height and will be familiar with all your gear by day two.
- No Sharing of gliders as this is a waste of time, no reusing worn out outdated gear as new gliders are easier to learn on!
