For those who know they want to soar like birds, the Beginner Paragliding Courses are for you. Paragliding lessons always take place on the island, with locations depending on the weather conditions. Paragliding lessons can be done in Los Gilles, Coloradas or at the beach.
Gran Canaria has great take off’s that allow you launch in most wind conditions. Then it's up to you as to what you do and how long you stay in flight for. Paragliding Gran Canaria - Tandem Flight Experience €70
Come and experience an amazing bird’s eye view of Gran Canaria, on a Tandem paragliding Flight. People doing a Tandem don’t need anything but comfortable shoes. Boots with ankle support are recommended. Tandems are fully insured and flights typically last from 30 to 60 minutes depending on weather conditions, which are perfect 99% of the time.
Paragliding Gran Canaria - Intro Paragliding Course €120
Not sure if Paragliding is the sport for you? Would you like to know a little bit more about Paragliding? On this one day paragliding course you will be shown what a paraglider is, how it works, how to inflate it and how to control it. Paragliding safety aspect will also be covered. Then you'll progress onto very small flights and later even to a couple of solo flight should you feel confident enough.

Paragliding Gran Canaria Elementary Pilot Course (EP) €640
If you want to become a certified paragliding pilot, then this is the course for you. On this 5-day course you will learn what a paraglider is, how it flies, how to control it both in the air and on the ground and more. More importantly you will learn how to take off and land safely. You will also be introduced to meteorology, principles of flight, rules of the air and air law. At the end of the paragliding course you will have to pass an exam.
After successful completion of this paragliding course, you will be able 
to complete short solo flights under instructor supervision. You will be issued with a pilot’s license, (EP) which is valid worldwide and insurance for 3months in Spain.

Paragliding Gran Canaria Club Pilot Course (CP) €640
This paragliding course also know as The Progression Course, is designed to get you to the stage where you can confidently fly by yourself pretty much anywhere you like. You will learn about basic emergency situations and practice rapid descent techniques. You will also learn more about on meteorology, principles of flight, rules of the air and air law.
After successful completion of this 5-day Paragliding course you will be able to fly solo without instructor 
supervision. You will be issued with a pilot’s license, (CP) which is valid worldwide and insurance for 3months in Spain.

Paragliding Insurance & License *
To attend the EP & CP Courses you need to have a license and insurance prior to the start of the course. Once we have you booked for a course date we will need a photocopy of your passport and your personnel details. These will be used to apply for your license and get your insurance. ( The fee for both is included in the course price) You need to have both prior to the start of the course. Our partner paragliding School will apply for your license and insurance prior to the start of the course. Allow at least 12 days notice.
Paragliding Gran Canaria - Paragliding Notes
- Paragliding Courses: Minimum age 18 years. No weight restrictions.
- Tandem paragliding: No age limit. Weight limits 20kg to 135kg.
- Paragliding instructors and courses are certified by the RFAE. (La Real Federación Aeronáutica Española) This is the equivalent of the BHPA. (British Hang Gliding & Paragliding Association)
- The RFAE ensures training standards for pilots, instructors and judges and provide technical support and airworthiness standards. The RFAE also run coaching courses for pilots and a whole host of other services, which cover all aerial sports within the Spanish territories.
- Elementary Pilot Course - After successful completion of the EP Paragliding course you will be able to fly solo under instructor supervision.
- Club Pilot Course - After successful completion of the CP Paragliding course you will be able to fly Solo without instructor supervision.
- After successful completion of the EP or CP paragliding courses you will be issued with a pilot's license, which is valid worldwide.
