Extreme Sports Cafes’ new partner Portugal Watersports Centre offers both Wind surfing and Kite surfing instruction between May and September. Located in the northwest of Portugal, near the town of Aveiro, in a picturesque fisherman Village. This water-sports centre was opened in 1997, due to the efforts of two windsurfers who wanted to provide good support for water-sports locally. The lagoon where kite lessons are taught has very shallow water, which is ideal for beginners and the ocean side has the Atlantic swell with waves everyday, making it very good for surf camps. 
- There is no need for cars or buses here, you can walk straight from the kitesurfing centre to the beach, to the camping site or the hotel in about 3 min as everything is conveniently close by.
- The nearest big city with an airport is Porto which is approx 80 Km from the spot.
- The Portuguese Tourist Board licensed our partner Portuguese Watersports Centre in 2000. In 2000 they began the Kitesurfing School and were the first official Portuguese school of the international Wipika School network.
Since then it has evolved and is now recognised both on a national and international basis for the quality of the infrastructure, services, customer support and staff.

Kitesurfing Basic Courses - Step 1 €120
This kite surfing course is 3/4hours of kitesurfing tuition covering theoretical basics of kitesurfing, safety rules, set up, beach flying, wind window, power zone and self rescue.
Kitesurfing Basic Courses - Step 2 €120
This kite surfing course is 3hours of kitesurfing tuition covering your first kitesurfing water lesson, water relaunch, body dragging downwind, directional and upwind and preparation for the board.
Kitesurfing Basics Courses Step 3 €120
This kite surfing course is 3hours of kitesurfing tuition covering your second kitesurfing water lesson, board ridding theory, waterstart, controlling the power and your first board rides.
Kitesurfing Basics Courses Steps 1,2 & 3 €300
This kite surfing course is 10hours of kitesurfing tuition covering all the skills in the step 1, 2 & 3 courses, from your first land lesson to your first board rides in the water.

This kite surfing Refresher course is 3hours of kitesurfing tuition to help you get back into the swing of kite surfing after a period of inactivity.
Advanced Kitesurfing Lessons €100
This Advanced kite surfing course is 3hours of kitesurfing tuition to help push the riders & their skills to new personal limits from riding up wind to kite loop.
Private Kitesurfing Lessons €100
This is a 2hour kite surfing lessons, one to one tuition with an instructor to work on any kitesurfing skills you need. All equipment and boat cover is included.
Kitesurfing Equipment Hire/ Supervision €85
Kitesurfing Complete Kit Hire Package 1-day.
You must be an Intermediate rider to hire kit.
Kitesurfing Porto Notes
- All kitesurfing equipment supplied including safety boat service.
- You must be an Intermediate rider to hire kite surfing equipment.
- All kitesurfing equipment needed for lessons is supplied, Bowkites, helmet and impact vest
- Kite surfing instructors are certificated by IKO. (International Kitesurfing Organisation)
- Students receive an IKO card valid worldwide at the end of the kite course.
- All courses require a minimum of 2 students.
- On individual lessons the price remains the same, but the lesson duration is reduced by 30%. You learn quicker with one to one instruction than you would if there were 2 students)
