- The town it's self is home to some very original South African gems, Die Strandloper, Froggies, Pearly's on The Beach and of course "Eve's Footprint!"
- Eve's Footprint was discovered on the entrance to the Lagoon and is one of the earliest, proof of modern man's or woman's existence on this planet! Over 170,000 years old, this fossil shows how people have been coming to this town for a lot longer than we thought. Even a pair of bindings were found close by, so perhaps she was a wakeboarder.

10Hrs IKO Beginner Kitesurfing Course R2,650
This Introduction to Kiteboarding is designed for beginners and is run over 2-3 days. The kite course consists of 3 sessions, which total 10 hours. Session 1 is 3hrs, land based. Session 2 is 3hrs, water based. Session3 is 4hrs, water based. You will be taught the basic skills which include: 
- Basic kite flying with a foil kite.
- Kite setup.
- Equipment choice.
- Safety procedures.
- Weather awareness.
- Body dragging skills.
- Water re-launching.
- Water start.
Please remember that everyone learns at different speeds, so how far you get on the kite course depends on your individual ability. Generally students gain an IKO L2 certification after this kite course.
- The weather cannot be guaranteed and your kite surfing lessons may take place in anything from 10 knots to 25 knots. Your kite Instructor will provide suitable kite equipment according to the conditions.
- On completion of your Kitesurfing Beginner course, you will receive IKO certification according to your level. (IKO = International Kite boarding Organisation)
- For those under 16 years of age we ask that at least 1 parent takes the course to ensure they also fully understand the safety aspects and potential power of these kites.
Kitesurfing Tuition & Refresher After your beginner course you are strongly advised to take further tuition to help you progress. Additional tuition and refreshers are available in groups (2 to 4 people) after the beginner course.

All the above are based on groups of up to 4 people. If there is only 1 person booked for the course then the time will be reduced by ½ hour on sessions 1 & 2 and 1 hour for session 3.

Kite surfing Equipment Rental
Kite surfing equipment hire is available for Board only. The Kite center do not hire out kites. There are Gaastra and North Kites For Sale in the kite Shop.

Kitesurfing Spot conditions & Facilities - Langebaan
The spot is on the shores of the huge Langebaan lagoon.The turkish blue water of the 20km long 1,5km wide lagoon offers exceptional flat water for wind surfing and also magnificent kite surfing conditions for beginners through to advanced levels.

Winds - The wind direction in the summer months is side shore and wind statistics show that from October to March there are 20 – 25 wind days with over 20 knots per month. From November through to February expect some days of up to 35 knots.
- Sunny days and cool evenings. Water temperature between 16 - 22 °C depending on the tide. A 3mm/2mm wetsuit or warmer is is required in the lower part of the lagoon or a shortie up at the top shallow section of the lagoon.
- In the early mornings it is amazing to rent a sea kayak and venture onto the lagoon and see all the birds, seals, penguins and sea life around you.
