Extreme Sports Cafe's partner Exuma Kitesurfing school is located in Rolleville, Exuma in the southern Bahamas. Our partner Exuma Kitesurfing school have great local knowledge combined with expert instruction, to offer a personalised service geared toward small groups so you can maximise your kiteboarding lessons or Kiteventure experience. The Kitesurf School accommodates four students per day and uses Slingshot kiteboarding gear. Extreme Sports cafes partner Exuma Kitesurfing School was launched in 2007 to offer kiteboarding lessons and kiteboarding charter trips, (Kiteventures) with personalised kite boarding coaching to kiteboarding students of all skill levels.
- Ground theory lessons are held on the deck of the Beach Club. The trainer kite flying is held five minutes walk up the beach and water lessons and free riding are held at a 1.5 mile long beach.
- The water lesson area is waist-deep, sandy bottom, crystal clear water, reef protected, and has a
- rescue boat. Also, there are no crowds, making this the optimum area for maximising your kite boarding experience.
- Our partner Exuma Kitesurfing School operates for lessons and Kiteventures from November through May.
The kite school's instructor is an IKO and PASA certified level 2 instructor. He draws on his experience as an advanced kiteboarder, expert windsurfer, graphic designer, photographer, former snowboard instructor and professional motorcycle road racer to deliver a very personalised touch to his teaching style.

4-Day Learn To Kiteboard Kiteventure $1080 p/p
The beginner student goal is to achieve IKO intermediate level 2i kiteboarding certification by being able to determine wind direction, speed, and quality for a safe launch, practice the rules of the water with other kiters, set up kiting equipment independently, use and reset all safety systems, safely launch and land the kite, execute water relaunches, water start, work the board and kite in harmony for extended rides, control speed, complete basic turns and transitions, and perform upwind body dragging and self rescue techniques. This kite surfing package includes:
- 3hr land lesson. (instructor/student ratio 1:4, 2 kites) Unlimited power kite flying. (trainer kite)
- 3hr water lessons. (instructor/student ratio 1:2, 2 kites) 2hr private lesson. (instructor/student ratio 1:1) 2hrs solo supervised practice session and one Kite Island Kiteventure.
All lessons are held in waist deep, sandy bottom locations and includes all kit needed:Slingshot kiteboarding gear, helmet, harness. (does not include accommodation)
3-Day Learn To Kiteboard Weekend $980 p/p
This is a 3 day intensive beginner lesson package solely focusing on learning to kiteboard. This Kite surfing package is for experienced kitesurfers who must be able to kite upwind and are able to deep water relaunch. Kiteventures combine sightseeing on route to Exuma's best launches, accessible by boat only. This Kiteventure package includes:
- Slingshot kiteboarding hire gear for four days of kiting.
- One Crystal Kiteventure - Sand bar rollers and super flat water.
- One Kite Island Kiteventure - A versatile island launch with flat water, rollers and waves.
- One organised downwinder and Wind Call Service for the duration of your stay. (daily forecast and best launches report)
4-Day Kiteventure Package $400 p/p (not including kitesurf gear)
This Kitesurfing package is for experienced kitesurfers who must be able to kite upwind and are able to deep water relaunch and have all of their own kitesurfing gear. This packages includes everything in the above 4-day Kiteventure package except Slingshot kiteboarding hire gear. You need to Bring Your Own Gear.
What to Bring - Kitesurfing Exuma
- Harness, booties, safety knife and 1-2mm top or 1-2mm shorty.
- Neoprene is usually not needed, however fronts in January and February sometimes brings lower 70Fs air temperatures with overcast skies. The water is always above 76F.
