5-day Beginner Kite surfing Course Breakdown
- 1st Kitesurfing session

- Introduction to kites with a look at different types and sizes.
- Elementary rules of security.
- Specific vocabulary for kite surfing.
- Rigging up. (inflation, connecting lines)
- Launching and landing from the beach.
- Basic flying movement.
- Security system and how to use it.
- Body drag downwind.
- Kite recovery from the water.
- 2nd Kitesurfing session
- Piloting the kite from side to side into the flight window.
- Relaunching the kite from water.

- The Beach start.
- Body drag with harness hooked one hand.
- Relaunching the kite from water on both side.
- Water start theory.
- Piloting kite.
- 3rd Kitesurfing session
- Rig and pilot a 4 line kite alone!
- Water start and long ride.
Now it's time to take it up a notch. Once you are able to demonstrate the body drag and basic beach start you'll move on to the second phase of your kitesurfing course.
The aim now is to teach you how to go upwind, practise controlled riding and to show you how to go out and return to the same place.

- Ideally situated just under an hour from Faro airport, Lagos is also the terminal of the Algarve railway. Lagos has its own modern marina, beach cafes, golf courses and within its ancient walls lies a network of bars, restaurants, year round entertainment and a bustling nightlife to suit everyone.
- Lagos may be the hub of many of our extreme sports and activities on offer but the un-spoilt natural park which follows the south coast to Sagres (the end of the world) all the way up along the dramatic west coast, hosts a multitude of scenic dirt tracks, quaint villages, secluded beaches and inspiring cliffs, all worth a visit if you're not already staying there.

- The northerly wind the Nortada filters through the mountain range of the Serra de Monchique creating perfect year round conditions for kite boarding in the Algarve. The predominant wind in the Algarve especially between the months of May-Oct with June through to Sept being the best is the northerly wind the Nortada. The wind usually picks up through the morning until about 2 O'clock when it blows it's strongest at 25 knots.

Getting There - The Algarve Kite surfing Portugal
- By Train - Algarve Train services are quite frequent, with most sections of the line getting 14-16 trains each way on weekdays. Saturday and Sunday services are however reduced.
- By Train - From Lisbon there are services through out the Algarve. The Barreiro station, on the south bank of the River Tagus, serves the south, which provides the service to the Algarve.
- Bus services from both Lisbon and Faro - You can get almost everywhere easily and efficiently by public transport. The best way of getting around the country is the efficient bus system. The buses are clean, reasonably comfortable and cheap. There is the option to avoid long journeys within the Algarve by booking express regional services. There is a good choice of Algarve-Lisbon bus companies and departure times. The Rede Nacional de Expressos run a comprehensive national service.
- By Taxi - Charges are made according to distance and all taxis are metered. Taxis are usually beige. Within cities taxi drivers typically charge a standard meter fare; however if traveling to destinations outside the city limits they may charge per kilometer and are entitled to charge for the return fare to cover their expenses.
- By Plane - Portugal’s national airline, TAP Air Portugal (TP), operates direct flights to Faro and Lisbon from a number of countries, including Canada, France, Spain, the UK and USA, while Portugália Airlines (NI) operates flights from Europe. Airlines flying to Portugal from the UK include British Airways, GB Airways and Monarch Airlines amongst others.
